- dear diary: file this one under "things I never imagined I'd be doing". Also under "post-hoc apology to my neighbors for the light, sound, and smell pollution". A while ago, Lisa requested that I buy several large bags of large beans to put into our sand table so that Jason could play with new textures; so I did, and she did, and he did, and life was good. Until. 9:15 tonight, Lisa says "oh, I forgot to tell you", with a really chagrined look on her face. Somehow, water -- lots of water -- had managed to get into the sand table, which had encouraged nature to take its course, which resulted in disgusted half-sprouted beans and the most god-awful smell, second only to Jessica's house-clearing GI-induced diaper (wow). So, out with the gloves, shovel, and buckets I go. 3 buckets of "beans" later -- I found myself thinking as I dumped them into the compost bin: "I don't like what I'm doing _now_, but I may really regret _this_ later..." -- I was hosing off the implements and sand table and toys that had been buried in the "sand" table. Time for a shower, now :)
